Access Data

Access data consists of complete e-mail address and a password. Password is used as clear text, you strongly encouraged to use TLS / SSL.

IMAP4

You can use IMAP4 with or without SSL/TLS. Server is mail.privatdemail.net

Sieve

Sieve is a powerful programming language for mail filters. Our server filters mails according to you rules. Our Sieve server is at mail.privatdemail.net port 2000. If you use Thunderbird, we recommend Sieve plugin for Thunderbird. That add-on provides a management GUI for Sieve rules. Default there is no Sieve rule if you sign on to our service. See RFC 3028 for detailed Sieve specification. Warning: If you configure Sieve to delete e-mails, there is no way to bring back deleted mails. You have been warned !

SMTP

For sending mails we provide SMTP with and without SSL/TLS on mail.privatdemail.net at following ports:

You should not consider to use unencrypted SMTP. If your provider blocks port 25, you can use port 587 without any limitations.
